..to restore the spirit than a weekend away? (I love that saying!) And that's exactly what we did. A weekend down at the Prom (Wilson's Prom, southern tip of Victoria and the most beautiful national park). Yes it was cold but we were prepared - hats scarves & coats did not deter any one of the five of us. Lots of walking, lots of talking and hugging. Best of all, lots of laughing.
A couple of pics:
1. My daughter braving the cold water & chasing the gulls. Not a care in the world.
2. Well, we're not dentists, but we can't show you our faces either... Me, my guy, my littlest gal (not so little).
It's only two weeks before we move house - *insert panic stricken look on my face here* - so much to do in such a short time!
I'm also watching my calorie intake because, well, I'm just not exercising much and the weight was creeping up higher. So, over the last three weeks I've lost exactly 2 kilos. Steady, steady seems to be doing it, so I'm really happy with that.
Well, I'm supposed to be on holidays again - somehow it doesn't feel quite the same when I've spent so much time on the phone organising 'stuff' - for me, my daughters, my partner and my family - and bloody packing!! Despite having a good tidy out of all my household contents, AND I never thought I'd accumulate so much in 8 years (WTF!), I am so looking forward to moving day. The packing will be over!!!
And, not because I'm particularly motivated, but I've been walking the dog each day just to get out of the house. Tragic, I know... I'm only taking one dog and feeling so guilty for leaving the other behind, but his arthritis doesn't allow him to go too far, I feel like I'm causing him more pain by taking him for a walk. Sigh :-(
Ho hum, let's not talk about the weight.... Just felt like jotting about items from my teen years: Dolly magazine - dolly doctor and what should I do. Did anyone else keep their magazines in a pile in their bedroom 'just in case' you needed to look back on one of the topics? Woodbines cigarettes. Or what about the coloured sticks called...umm...called.... ?? They were like mini cigars for women? High school 'you're dropped' moments MAGIC SILVER WHITE (anyone?) - THE best product for your hair!!! Staggers jeans The Southern Cross centre in Melbourne (ooh and the magic shop just down the road) Brashs music stores Blackberry Nip / Brandivino Iceland skate rink Discos Countdown - Sherbet or Skyhooks? Hey Hey Its Saturday Twistie sandwiches got to go, anyone got anything to add here? xx
Done! For the second time in as many weeks I have finished the 1000 steps at Upper Ferntree Gully. Lots of stops along the way, but I did it! Feeling good.....
Well now, only 2 and 1/2 months passed since my last blog, and already I'm into a new year. I am trying to be optimistic but therein lies a problem - I just know 2007 will pose some challenges for me - my brother remains a constant concern, my dad (who had heart surgery during the year) is in and out of hospital with varying issues, my lovelife (yes, well that's another story!) and my own health issues - lumps along my old caesarian scar that are getting larger and more painful and will probably result in further surgery (CT & ultrasounds can't quite diagnose the cause or content!), and I know further surgery will then restrict my exercise regime which I am determined to stay ahead of this year.
Some of my goals for the next month: exercise at least each second day (even, if only a token effort on some days), get to the docs (**cking again - I am so over this!), find a counsellor (and a good one!).
Today, well I cleaned my house non stop for three hours - I think that counts as mild exercise for today - then went to the Queen Vic Night Market - how to jam so many people in ??? By 9.15pm or so, most of the crowd seemed to have dwindled down so was able to spend less time darting in and out of the crowds & more time visiting the interesting stalls on show. I really loved checking out the individual fashion style of many people - it only helped to reinforce to me to lose some flab so I can buy more clothes 'off the rack' to create my own styles. Anyway, bought a fantastic necklace & earring set - will post a pic later.
It's time to catch some zzzzs. *yawn* Night all ....
A simple blog really. This is my weight loss journey, some of the events in my days and hopefully provide the opportunity to share words and thoughts. Thanks for visiting.
